The new permanent architecture gallery occupies the McAulay Gallery at the The Royal Academy of Arts. The Architecture Window is designed to provide a flexible framework for a series of exhibitions in the coming years, holding a variety of works reflecting the eclecticism of a shop window display.
Designed as a self-supporting structural grid of openable partitions, the “Window” provides immense adaptability for the Royal Academy to showcase a range of possible works.
The first exhibition in the ‘window’ brings together work that speculates on the materiality and production of architecture. Offering new perspectives in response to concerns about extreme weather and resource scarcity.
